The Ultimate Guide to a Natural Skincare Routine

Putting together a natural skincare routine that suits your needs can seem like a daunting task at first, especially if you’re going from only using soap and water to using five different products.

To make it easier for you, we’ve put together this ultimate guide that has ALL the info you need to build your routine using natural ingredients. But of course, if you need further instruction, tips, or product recommendations, please contact us

Step 1: Remove Your Makeup

Whether you’ve had a long day at work or only put on a bit of concealer and mascara to look more awake, you need to take off your makeup - no excuses!

Product:
How to Use:
Apply 1-2 pumps to a cotton round and use to gently remove face and eye makeup. Also can be applied to hands and worked onto the face like a cleanser for double cleansing.
Day or Night: Night
How to Use for Double Cleansing:
Massage the Face & Eye Makeup remover over your skin in upwards and outwards motions (free face massage!), concentrating on areas with more makeup such as the eyes and cheeks. Rinse your face with warm water.

Step 2: Cleanse

The most basic step, but one of the most important! After removing makeup, use a cleanser to remove dirt, excess oils, any residual makeup, and pollutants.

Product:
Foaming Acne Prone Face Wash - For Acne Prone Skin
Foaming Normal/Combo Face Wash - For All Skin Types Except Acne
Charcoal Face Bar - For Acne Prone or Irritated Skin
    How to Use:
Dispense Foaming Face Wash into your hands, emulsify and massage gently into face using circular motions. Rinse off with cool water and pat dry with a towel if needed. Use morning and evening. For external use only. Avoid Eyes.
Lather Charcoal Face Bar in hands with warm water or use a Konjac Sponge. Apply to face in circular motion. Rinse well with warm water.
    Day or Night: Both

    Step 2.5: Exfoliate

We’re making Exfoliating Step 2.5 because this step should only be added to your routine about 1-2 times a week.

    Product:
    How to Use:
Combine 1 TBSP with water in hands to create a watery paste. Massage gently onto the face in circular motions. Rinse clean with warm water. Use 1-2 times/week or as needed.
    Day or Night: Night

Our Micro Exfoliator is super gentle and contains chamomile, calendula, and rose clay which all have anti-inflammatory properties.

Exfoliating with acne-prone skin: If you have acne, you should gently exfoliate more than usual so that the skin can be smoothed and softened (about 2-3 times/week).

Exfoliating will help to reduce future breakouts by clearing out the sebum and dead skin cells in the pores.  If you notice your skin is becoming more inflamed, or you see more acne, reduce to 1-2 times per week and remember not to scrub too hard!

    Step 3: Face Mask

About 1-2 times a week, it’s good to do a Face Mask to reset the skin, hydrate it, and target specific concerns.

    Product:
Dead Sea Mud Mask - Hydrating
Meet your Match(a) Mask - For Dry Skin
Lumi-hance - For Dull Dry Skin that Needs Brightening
Clay Mask - For Skin in Need of a Deep Cleanse
Beet the Clock - For Aging Skin
Renew & Retain - Correcting Mask. For Skin that needs a “Reset”
Bee-you-tiful Honey Mask - For Acne Prone Skin & Deep Hydration
    How to Use:
Follow the instructions on each individual mask as they are all different! The general rule of thumb is that you should leave the mask on for 12-15 minutes before rinsing it off.
Masks focused on hydration can be used every night if you choose.
Masks focused on cleansing, resurfacing, anti-aging, or exfoliating should be used a max of two times per week.
    Day or Night: Either

    Step 4: Tone

Toning is extremely important and should never be skipped! The main purpose of a toner is to rebalance the skin’s pH after it’s been through cleansing and masking. Ideally, the skin should be at a pH between 4.5 and 5.5.

    Product:
    How to Use:
Spritz 2-3 times onto a cotton ball and swipe over face or spritz directly onto face.
    Day or Night: Both

    Step 5: Specialized Products

Sometimes there are problem areas in your complexion that you want to hyper-target with specific ingredients.

    Product:
Blemish Treatment - For Bacterial & Hormonal Acne
Under Eye Elixir - For Puffiness, Discoloration & Fine Lines
    How to Use:
Apply to the areas you want to target with each product. Lightly pat into the skin with your ring finger.
    Day or Night: Night

    Step 6: Moisturize

One of the most important steps of your routine is replenishing moisture to your face. Now, there are many different combos of products you can use to find your perfect moisture balance.

Let’s start with a base moisturizer.

    Product:
Face Jelly - For Oily Skin
Blue Dew - For Normal/Combo Skin
Face Cream - For Very Dry Skin

    How to Use:
Each moisturizer is different, so the amount needed varies. Our general rule of thumb is that you’ll need 1-2 pumps of Face Jelly, a dime-sized amount of Blue Dew, or a pea-sized amount of Face Cream. However, everyone’s skin varies, so do what feels best for you!
If you use our Mineral Nighttime Acne & Rosacea Treatment, mix a bit in with your moisturizer!
    Day or Night:
Depends on your skin and how much moisture you feel you need.

Now if you feel like you need extra moisture or want to add extra nutrients to your skin, add a few drops of Serum. Serums reach to even deeper levels of the skin than moisturizers.

    Product:
Face Serum - Light serum for younger skin
Pro-Age Serum - For aging or soon-to-age skin
Order to Apply your Moisturizer & Serum:
    Face Jelly then Serum
    Serum then Blue Dew
    Serum then Face Cream
