How to Remove your Makeup

  • Apply 1-2 pumps of your Makeup Remover to a cotton round and use to gently remove eye makeup.
  • Dispense 1-2 pumps of your Makeup Remover in your hands and work on to your face like a cleanser (this is called Double Cleansing). The oils will help to break up the makeup so it's easy to remove. Rinse when finished.

Step 2: Wash your Face

The most basic step, but one of the most important! Throughout the day, your skin accumulates various impurities such as dirt, sweat, bacteria, pollutants, and makeup residue. Washing your face helps to effectively remove these impurities, preventing them from clogging your pores and potentially causing breakouts, blackheads, and skin irritation.

Step 2.5: Exfoliate your Skin

We’re making Exfoliating Step 2.5 because this step should only be added to your routine about 1-2 times a week depending on your skin needs.

(Typically, aging skin needs more exfoliation than more youthful skin.)

Exfoliation involves the removal of dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, revealing a fresh and rejuvenated complexion. It offers your skin offers several benefits, including the removal of dead skin cells for a smoother and brighter complexion, unclogging of pores to reduce breakouts, and enhanced absorption of skincare products for maximum effectiveness.

If that isn't enough push for you to start exfoliating, It also promotes collagen production, improves skin texture, and contributes to a radiant and youthful appearance!

When looking for an exfoliator, you can either do a physical exfoliator (like our Micro Exfoliator or a Konjac Sponge), or a "chemical" exfoliator like a mask with fruit enzymes that break down dead skin cells so that they're easier to remove.

Step 3: Face Mask

Doing a skincare face mask at least once a week provides numerous benefits for your skin. Face masks can deeply nourish and hydrate the skin, targeting specific concerns such as dryness, dullness, or acne. They also help to draw out impurities, unclog pores, and improve overall skin texture, leaving your complexion refreshed, rejuvenated, and glowing. Incorporating regular face mask treatments into your skincare routine can effectively enhance the results of your skincare products and promote a healthier, more radiant complexion!

Step 4: Toner

Toning is extremely important and should never be skipped! The main purpose of a toner is to rebalance the skin’s pH after it’s been through cleansing and masking. Ideally, the skin should be at a pH between 4.5 and 5.5.

Toner also helps to remove any remaining traces of dirt, oil, and impurities, leaving the skin clean and refreshed. Additionally, they provide hydration, tighten the pores, and prep the skin for better absorption of subsequent skincare products, promoting a smoother, more radiant complexion.

Step 6: Moisturizers + Serums

Moisturizing your face is crucial for maintaining healthy, nourished skin. Regular moisturizing helps to replenish and lock in moisture, keeping the skin hydrated, soft, and supple.

It also plays a vital role in supporting the skin's natural barrier function, protecting it from external aggressors and preventing moisture loss.

Proper moisturizing also helps to balance oil production, preventing the skin from becoming overly dry or excessively oily. It can also address specific skin concerns such as dryness, fine lines, and uneven texture, promoting a smoother, more youthful complexion.

What's the Difference Between a Serum and a Moisturizer?

  • Serums: Serums are lightweight, highly concentrated formulations that contain a higher concentration of active ingredients such as antioxidants, vitamins, peptides, or hyaluronic acid. They are designed to penetrate deeply into the skin and target specific skin concerns like wrinkles, uneven skin tone, or hyperpigmentation. Serums are typically applied after cleansing and toning and before moisturizing. They deliver potent ingredients directly to the skin, addressing specific issues and providing targeted benefits.
  • Moisturizers: Moisturizers, on the other hand, are thicker, emollient-rich products that are formulated to hydrate and nourish the skin. They generally contain a combination of humectants, occlusives, and emollients that work together to moisturize the skin, retain moisture, and reinforce the skin's barrier function. They help to prevent water loss, maintain hydration, and keep the skin soft, smooth, and supple.

MOISTURIZER + SERUM APPLICATION ORDER

If you're using our Face Cream, apply your Serum first, and then the Cream.

If you're using our Face Jelly or Blue Dew, apply your Serum after your moisturizer.
